Most organisations hold many linear feet of archives that are superfluous to requirements. Records
Management consultancy assists staff in developing key document retention strategies which are in
compliance with legal requirements. Efficient archive management ensures that inconsequential material
is not restored unnecessarily.
The quantity of the archives that organisations are required to retain raises issues in terms of internal
storage space. Document SOS provide varying solutions from Archive Training to Vacuum Packing. By
vacuum packing documents, storage space can be reduced by up to 60%. Key information can easily be
retrieved and re-packed.

We have a capacity to scan over 500,000 pages per day into most formats including TIF, PDF, OCR,
HTML, JPG and many more.
We can collect your documents direct from your office anywhere in the UK and once scanned we can even
securely shred them if required, supplying an appropriate security certificate as proof.
Document S.O.S can also provide scanning for restored documentation following its recovery and
restoration. This is particularly helpful as a backup copy but it should be noted that some records need to
be on their original substrate to support legal criteria.

Frequently in a disaster site, the damage is limited to one area, but the office or building is deemed
unsuitable for a variety of reasons. In order that multiple storage sites do not complicate file retrieval, it
is more efficient to keep all the paperwork together in one location. Document S.O.S provide a secure
document storage service for those undamaged records, which includes a fast-track retrieval and courier
facility. The demand for the logging and packing system that Document S.O.S offer has now been
extended to include office relocations. Documents from the original office can be sorted, archived,
delivered and unpacked in order at the new location.
